EPOCH is an artist-run virtual gallery. For Art in the Plague Year it is, therefore, a meta-gallery, a gallery within a gallery. This small hall of mirrors continues. Quite evidently, we have curated a curator. In addition, EPOCH is a context to experience art which simultaneously positions itself as an artwork. The project is the creation of artist Peter Wu+ and was launched during quarantine. Wu+ envisions the project as “an inclusive community-building platform supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists.” States Wu+: “Entering a space which is still unexplored, this project challenges the status quo with each exhibition. EPOCH’s goal is to react and reflect current socio-political situations while providing artists with a critical space for people to engage their works virtually.” For Art in the Plague Year, Wu+ offers unique scene renderings from two previous EPOCH exhibitions.
