La Cueva del Hechicero [The Cave of the Magician]
“My work as a visual artist during the pandemic forced me to resume my previous craft practice. During the long periods of confinement, I began to experiment with cactus and huaje* fibers; I realized that through these materials I could conceive a transmutation of my physical body, representing a kind of shielding and protection from what was happening outside”. (*Huaje is the Mexican name for a widely distributed tree with white flowers and edible pods.)
